Successful season 2016
„Successful season – Tamara has great potential”
The “Waldviertel-Rally” was the last event in 2016 for Ilka Minor together with the youngster Tamara Molinaro. The Italian rally driver will take part in another two events but will not be navigated by her regular co-driver.
The background: The continuation and the 2016 season planning for the project “Molinaro” came at a moment when Ilka Minor already (end of January 2016) agreed to projects with Henning Solberg (WRC events) and Martin Prokop (Dakar 2017 including preparation and test runs). To be prepared for eventually future diary clashes the team is searching for a replacement for Ilka Minor. They take the opportunity in the last two events where Tamara Molinaro will run with two different co-drivers.
Ilka Minor explains: “My program with Tamara Molinaro for the season 2016 ends upon request of Raimund Baumschlager with the Waldviertel Rally. Personally I wished to sit next to Tamara also for the rest of the year. Until now the season was running successfully for us. Next to three events in the course car we competed in Liezen and Waldviertel two rallies counting to the Austrian Championship and the 3-Städte Rally counting to the German Championship. We finished all three rallies with a reasonable result. Tamara has great potential and I wish her all the best for the two remaining 2016 events. I’m looking forward to compete again together in the following season.”
